The anchor store of the North Commerce development is The Corbel, a 10,000-square-foot showroom featuring new and antique furniture, architectural salvage, upmarket gifts, and decor. The Charlet family, builders and restoration experts, founded The Corbel over 20 years ago and relocated it to the heart of St. Francisville.
Next door to The Corbel, another building houses the Charlets' clothing boutiques, Barlow and Deyo, which opened in late 2022, along with the existing Trends Hair Salon.
The Charlet family has also opened the new Hotel Toussaint as part of the North Commerce development.
In addition to the retail and hospitality ventures, the Charlets have opened The Mallory, an event center in the North Commerce development.
To finance these projects, Bank of St. Francisville (BSF) partnered with the SBA to utilize the 7a Loan Program, which supports economic development and job creation.
The Corbel, along with the other businesses in the North Commerce development, offers a comprehensive retail experience, combining shopping, dining, salon services, events, and accommodations.
BSF's business services, including the 7a Loan Program, have played a crucial role in supporting the development and growth of these businesses, contributing to the economic development and job creation in St. Francisville.
