A Delta aircraft clipped the tail of another plane on Tuesday morning at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport while taxiing for departure. The Delta flight, bound for Tokyo, struck an Endeavor Air flight headed to Lafayette, Louisiana.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the collision involving the Delta flight at the Atlanta airport.
This incident comes weeks after a deadly tire explosion at a Delta facility in Atlanta, where two employees were killed and another injured. There have also been several near-collisions at other airports in recent months.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has addressed concerns about runway incursions and flight safety at a recent summit. The agency aims to reduce serious runway incursions and has reported a 33% decrease in fiscal 2024 compared to 2023.
