Amazon has announced its fall Prime Day-like sales event, "Prime Big Deal Days," which will be held on October 8 and 9. The e-commerce giant has continued to host this event in October for the past two years and it has become a popular event for Amazon Prime members seeking incredible deals.
The event will take place in multiple countries including the US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and Turkey. Amazon will hold Big Deal Days in Japan later in October.
Amazon Prime members will enjoy a deal every five minutes throughout the two-day event. Amazon is also preparing a holiday gift guide to help shoppers find the perfect presents.
Jamil Ghani, vice president of Prime Worldwide, emphasized the value of Prime membership: “Exclusive savings events like Prime Big Deal Days combined with unlimited fast, free delivery of 300+ million products across more than 35 categories year-round put Prime in a class of its own and make membership a better value than ever before.”
The recent July Amazon Prime Day event proved highly successful for the company, with a record $14.2 billion in sales. This reflects the enduring popularity of Amazon Prime for both everyday shopping and special occasions like Prime Day.
Mobile shopping continues to dominate online sales. Adobe reported that 49.3% of Prime Day sales originated from mobile devices, and they predict that 53% of online sales during the holiday season this year will come from mobile devices.
According to data from analytics firm Emarketer, Amazon's e-commerce sales in the US are expected to reach $491.65 billion in 2024, representing a 10.5% increase from the previous year. Amazon remains the dominant e-commerce retailer in the US with a commanding 40.4% market share.
